CURATORY OF THE International Festival of Theater, Stage & Street of Belo Horizonte - FIT BH 2022

Outra Margem was part of the curatorial team for the Belo Horizonte International Theater, Stage and Street Festival – FIT BH 2022, with Andreia Duarte in partnership with professor and researcher Marcos Alexandre; and actress, director and teacher Yara de Novaes.

The curatorial proposal was  to bring reflections on the diverse and plural faces of “Brazils” and “Latin Americas”. This edition of the festival intended to reflect on memory as a knowledge that positions identity and struggle, strengthening black, indigenous, feminine, transgender movements in a political aesthetic discussion.

The Municipality of Belo Horizonte, in partnership with the Odeon Institute, held the 15th edition of the Belo Horizonte International Theater, Stage and Street Festival – FIT BH, with the theme “Roots – Art, Existence and Our Latinity”. Scheduled to take place in person between November 5th and 11th, after the edition canceled in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event brought shows to theaters, streets and alternative spaces in the city.

FIT BH is an initiative of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and the Municipal Foundation of Culture, and is part of the official calendar of the capital of Minas Gerais, in addition to being responsible for including Belo Horizonte in the route and agenda of large meetings of Brazilian groups and artists. Likewise, the festival provides a rich and diverse local scene by guaranteeing relevant space to artists and collectives from Belo Horizonte and the Metropolitan Region.
